Danny E. Cummins became the organization's 11th president on October 1, 2008, succeeding James L. Mounce. He was first elected to the Board of Directors on November 1, 2000, and was re-elected to the position of Executive Vice President Operations and Secretary on August 1, 2001.

A native of Brooksville, Ky., Cummins received his BS in Education from Eastern Kentucky University and his Masters in Elementary Education from Morehead State University. He began his Woodmen career as a part-time field representative in April 1982. In January 1985, he was promoted to area manager and on January 1, 1991, he was named Northeast Texas state manager. He moved to Omaha, Neb., in 1997 to become Vice President and National Field Manager.

Cummins earned both the Fraternal Insurance Counselor Fellow (FICF) and LIMRA (Life Insurance and Marketing Research Association) Leadership Institute Fellow (LLIF) designations. He has served as a member of the Board of the Fraternal Field Managers' Association and as a member of the LIMRA Agency Building Committee.

Cummins received a variety of honors and awards as a member of the Woodmen Field Force. He was named "Man of the Year" in East Kentucky in 1983, and in 1984, earned the National First Place Quality Production Award. As an area manager, he received the Outstanding Area Manager of the Year Award in East Kentucky in 1986, 1987 and 1990. He was a member of Woodmen's President's Clubs and Cabinet for 15 years.

He is a member of the American Saddlebred Association, American Horse Show Association, past member of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Saddlehorse Association, and currently serves on the Nebraska Humane Society Board of Trustees.
