Convention News ReleaseWoodmen To Hold National Convention July 26-29, 2009, in Austin, TexasMay 1, 2009 More than 700 delegates, officers and guests from across the United States will attend the 46th National Convention of Woodmen of the World/Omaha Woodmen Life Insurance Society, July 26-29, 2009, at the Hilton Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas.. The delegates, elected at state conventions held earlier this year, represent more than 700,000 Woodmen of the World members. They meet at the National Convention every four years to address the business and fraternal matters of the organization and elect national directors. Mark Scharenbroich, a motivational business speaker, will be the Convention keynote speaker. Joseph J. Annotti, President and CEO of the National Fraternal Congress of America, will also address the Convention. Registration for the convention will be held Sunday, July 26, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Hilton Austin. It will be followed by a memorial service honoring deceased Woodmen of the World members. Monday's opening session will include a Parade of States ceremony, the keynote address by Scharenbroich, greetings from Annotti, welcoming remarks by local dignitaries and the presentation of a gift to the city by Woodmen President and CEO Danny Cummins. The Convention banquet will be held Tuesday evening. The Convention will conclude Wednesday with the election and installation of officers and the Convention Audiovisual Report by Cummins. All convention events are for Woodmen of the World members and guests.
