Mark D. Theisen, of Omaha, NE, was elected to the Board of Directors of Woodmen of the World/Omaha Woodmen Life Insurance Society on July 27, 2001, after serving as Vice President and General Counsel since August 1, 1995. He was named Executive Vice President, Finance and Treasurer in April 2004 and became Executive Vice President, Fraternal in April 2008. He also serves as the President of WFS Holdings and is Chairman of the Board of Woodmen Financial Services.Â
A native of Osmond, NE, Theisen graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1973, and received his Juris Doctor degree from Creighton University in 1976. He received his Executive MBA (EMBA) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2003.
A Past President of Woodmen of the World Omaha Lodge 1, he received the Fraternal Spirit award from the lodge in 2002. He is currently the Secretary of the Nebraska Jurisdiction. Theisen is the Past President of the Nebraska Fraternal Congress and the Insurance Federation of Nebraska.
Active in the Boy Scouts of America, he is a member of the Board of Trustees, Mid-America Council and was inducted into the Soaring Eagle Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement in 2001. Theisen is on the Boards of Directors of the National Fraternal Congress of America (NFCA) and the Citizens Flag Alliance. He also serves on the Advisory Boards of the Salvation Army, American Red Cross Heartland Chapter, Creighton University Medical Center, the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Business Administration and the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, Theisen is a member of the Omaha (Downtown) Rotary Club.
Prior to his service with Woodmen of the World, Theisen was a partner in the Baird Holm Law Firm. He is a member of the Nebraska Bar Association was selected as a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and was the past president of the Labor and Employment Section of the Nebraska Bar Association and the Law section of the NFCA. In addition, Theisen is a member of the Omaha (Downtown) Rotary Club.
Theisen has a son, Joey, and a daughter, Angel Stottle.
